Kenya has been moving towards instituting good governance through the decentralization of administration and political structures. This is envisaged in the new constitution. The fight against health challenges and malnutrition among school age children is multi-sectoral and the interventions needed to address nutritional and health problems are beyond the capacity of one sector. To support the effective implementation of the Home Grown School Feeding (HGSF) programme, the collaboration of various sectors; Key Ministries in the Government, Development partners such as the Partnership for Child Development (PCD), civil societies and the private sector are needed. Such collaboration is critical in mobilizing requisite resourses for the implementation and monitoring of the health, nutrition and meals activities.
