In order to support the national government and other stakeholders to develop efficient Home Grown School Feeding (HGSF) programmes, operational support can be provided by three key interdependent points of intervention:
- Wider knowledge on HGSF
- Technical support to launch school-feeding policies and programmes
- Dialogue and partnership between stakeholders
The following sections contain information on operational support that is specific to Mali
Mali’s cultural and geographical diversity has an impact on consumption habits. In HGSF it is important to use local products in order to cover child nutritional needs during different seasons. It is essential to find out what products are available in a region at a certain time of the year and to design a plan to cover the key micronutrients of school-aged children.
This section identifies the main challenges that Mali encounters in terms of organization and institutional capacity.
This section outlines various activities for capacity building on all levels of HGSF in Mali as well as specific tools developed as part of Mali's Monitoring & Evaluation strategy.
